Annotation

The course of Studies of Applied Theology (religious pedagogy) is characterised by a scientific and practice-oriented orientation. It imparts both theological and humane knowledge and skills that enable students to do so,
- to understand the Christian faith more deeply and to communicate it responsibly,
- to help people in different personal situations and circumstances to lead a meaningful life,
- to independently carry out pastoral or religious pedagogy tasks assigned to them.

The degree course is also offered as a distance learning course; Here, the degree course content can be distributed over a longer total period of time (three to six years).

Admission requirements

A subject relevant work placement (8 weeks) in parishes or associations, in the field of extracurricular educational work as well as in educational, social or charitable institutions (at least four weeks of which should take place in a parish). Periods of relevant vocational training, relevant activities within the framework of the training of grade 11 of the specialised upper secondary school or relevant activities within the framework of the acquisition of the annual work placement serving as an access entitlement may be credited in whole or in part to this basic work placement.
