The essential requirements for admission to the Art History degree course include keen observational skills, the ability to analyse and articulate concrete facts, and an ability to understand and present historical contexts. In addition, students of Art History should enjoy writing their own texts and be willing to participate in excursions to view originals in person.

The research-focused, practice-oriented consecutive Master’s degree programme in Art History provides in-depth knowledge and methodological independence across the entire field of art history, accompanied by a systematically structured programme designed to teach current digital working techniques in digital art history.

Admission requirements
Certificate of academic degree or equivalent academic degree worth at least 180 CP or comparable scope of studies with Art History components worth at least 60 CP, which include introductory courses on the various subject areas of the discipline and its methodology as well as at least one introductory course in research methods (main seminar). In this academic degree, the applicant must have achieved an average grade of at least 2.50.
Applicants who do not meet the above requirements or only partially meet them may be provisionally admitted to the Master’s degree programme in Art History subject to conditions. supporting documents: Proof of course-specific aptitude.
