Annotation

The degree course German as a Second and Foreign Language for Work and Specialist Studies is based on the guiding principle that language and subject-specific learning are inextricably linked – especially in the context of work and study. In the exploration of theory and (teaching) practice, research and application-related aspects play an important role, preparing students for various fields of work characterised by multilingualism in Germany and abroad. Career opportunities are available in various fields, for example as a researcher in German as a foreign language/German as a second language at a university in Germany or abroad, as a department head for German as a foreign language/German as a second language at an adult education institution, as a German as a foreign language instructor at an international university for aspiring engineers, as a German language teacher for nursing training in a hospital or in the development of teaching materials at a publisher.
