Target group

Bachelor graduates whose degree must include the following skills:

-\tKnowledge of and ability to apply basic concepts and tools of Mediaeval and Early History
-\tKnowledge of and ability to apply basic concepts and tools of at least one sectoral-historical topic, such as political history, cultural history or microhistory of daily life
-\tKnowledge of and ability to apply central historical-theoretical and cultural-theoretical concepts and reasoning
-\tAbility to classify chronologically Mediaeval and early modern sources as well as to explore and interpret their informational value
-\tIndependent scientific exploration in written form of issues in Mediaeval and Early Modern History
-\tKnowledge of and ability to apply basic concepts and tools of (selected) German, English or Romance literary studies with respect to Mediaeval History and Early Modern History, as well as overview knowledge of the history of the (selected) German, English, French or Spanish literature in the Pre-Modern Age
-\tBasic knowledge of the linguistic analysis of mediaeval and early modern texts.

Annotation

Die Gemeinsamkeiten und Unterschiede vormoderner Kulturen in Antike, Mittelalter und Früher Neuzeit sowie deren Geschichte, Literatur, Sprache und Kunst stehen im Fokus des interdisziplinären Studienfaches Kulturen der europäischen Vormoderne. Es bietet die Möglichkeit, sich intensiv mit der Zeit vor 1800 zu beschäftigen und dabei den Fokus auf die Sprach- und Literaturgeschichte, die Kunst- und Kulturgeschichte sowie die Geschichte von Politik, Wirtschaft und Gesellschaft zu legen.
